MUM IN HER HEY DAY!

I have spoken a lot about my mum and how in her 80's she helped us so much with our move to the Chateau in France, sadly she died a few years ago at this time of the year, so I thought I would post a photo of her today as she was before I knew her ..................

wasn't she lovely!

20's bathing belle!

.........and as I last remember her at the age of 98 yrs still lovely!!

  2. Thankyou so much Susan-I was an only child and she was the best Mum, we were close right through-I miss her and my Dad. But I have the wonderful memories

  3. Your mum was lovely! What a life she led with you as her daughter! You both were blessed!

    It's funny that you would write about your mum today. Tomorrow is my first birthday without mine. Mom passed away last April at the age of 77.

    She always made my birthday so special, visiting my classroom with flowers and balloons every year as well as hosting a party with all the family and cooking my favorite foods. She made life so special.

    I'm afraid I'll be a bit teary-eyed tomorrow as I am now.

    Here's to our lovely mums and how they still live inside our hearts.

  5. Votre maman est d'une grande élégance. Il faut que je prenne le temps de venir plus longuement profiter de votre blog et découvrir votre chateau, mais le temps me manque en ce moment... Je vous remercie de votre visite à Arradon et de votre commentaire. A bientôt!

  7. You are so lucky to have your Mum still around Anet-- and at 83, what a grand age that is. Enjoy your time with her to the full, it passes so quickly, I hope she keeps in the best of health for long years to come!

  11. Ruth, Wasn't it strange both Cottage Girl and I were so missing our Mum's at the same time? Blogging certainly does bring people closer together, no matter how far apart they actually are;

  12. Hello Gwen- She was a flapper! She told me that when she was around 20 she had a short dress which had shimmering fringes all the way around and down to her knees, and that she used to make her entrance at the dances sashaying across the floor so that all the fringes swished back and forth. I can so see her doing that! haha

  13. She was a beauty! Her swim suit photo revealed she must have been athletic and perhaps a great swimmer. I loved the style of clothing worn during her day. Even at 98 she looked younger than her years.

  14. What lovely comments Brenda, She never looked her age, and was helping us peel off wallpaper up a ladder when she was 82. I liked the 20's style of clothing too especially the flapper dresses and the cloche hats!

  15. I don't know what is happening with Blogger. Your postings have just suddenly showed up tonight. Weird.

    She looks lovely in all those photos. How great it must have been to have her with you so long. Can't believe she was 98.

  16. She did not look 98 in that last photo. What a beautiful woman...somehow I think she must have been a lot of fun.
